Mohs Surgery
Mohs micrographic surgery is a precise, tissue-sparing surgical technique used to treat certain types of skin cancer by removing cancerous tissue layer by layer while examining each layer under the microscope in real time. This approach allows for complete margin control, maximizing cure rates while preserving as much healthy surrounding skin as possible.
Mohs surgery is most commonly indicated for basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma located in cosmetically or functionally sensitive areas such as the face, ears, nose, lips, scalp, hands, and genitals, as well as for recurrent tumors, aggressive subtypes, large lesions, or cancers with poorly defined borders.
