Botox is a simple, quick and safe procedure that helps remove lines and wrinkles from men and women seeking non-surgical rejuvenation and improvement of their facial appearance.

At Danesh Dermatology, we are dedicated to providing natural-looking and long-lasting results for our patients using Botox. Dr. Danesh takes the time to understand each patient's unique goals, and customizes treatment plans to achieve the best possible results. His approach is to use the right amount of Botox to achieve a subtle and natural improvement, avoiding the "frozen" look that can often result from over-treatment. Dr. Danesh’s patients appreciate his gentle touch and attention to detail, as well as his ability to create natural-looking results that help them feel confident and refreshed.

What is Botox?

Botox is made from a purified protein that temporarily relaxes the facial muscles responsible for certain lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive movements such as squinting and concentrating. When the muscles are relaxed, wrinkles gradually fade or disappear completely.

It is very effective in diminishing the appearance of frown lines, forehead furrows, crow’s feet, and lines and wrinkles of the lower face and neck. These injections that last about three to six months, but typically take about two to five days to show their effects.

What areas may be helped with Botox?

  • Horizontal forehead lines

  • Vertical brow creases

  • Crow’s feet (wrinkles around the eyes)

How long does Botox last?

Botox can smooth moderate to severe frown lines between your brows for up to 4 months. View the photos below to see the results.

What other options are there to Botox?

In addition to Botox, we offer other neuromodulators like Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau that are effective for those desiring a reduction in wrinkles. We also offer the innovative Daxxify treatment, which has even longer lasting results for wrinkles.

Safety Information

Xeomin | Neuromodulator

Xeomin is a type of injectable cosmetic treatment used to improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. Xeomin is made from a purified form of botulinum toxin, the same active ingredient that is used in Botox. Like Botox, Xeomin works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles, giving the skin a smoother, more youthful appearance. It is typically used on the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes. If you are interested in this treatment, contact our office to see which treatment plan is right for you.

How XEOMIN Works

Dysport

Facial expressions cause wrinkling of the skin, and over time, those wrinkles become deeper. Dysport works by temporarily blocking the impulse from the nerve to the muscle.

Botox, Dysport or Xeomin can be used to relax the muscles which cause certain wrinkles to develop in the first place. It is especially effective for lines around the eyes and mouth, which are caused by repeated muscle contractions over time. To learn more about whether this treatment is right for you, please visit us at our offices in Beverly Hills and San Gabriel.

Daxxify by Revance

What is Daxxify?

This September, Revance announced that the US FDA approved Daxxify*, a neuromodulator, for the temporary improvement of frown lines and wrinkles in adults. It is the first of its kind to be stabilized with Peptide Exchange Technology. It is produced free of human serum albumin and animal-based components. A significant differentiator is that it addresses the need for longer duration of treatment effect, which is seen as an unmet need with existing neuromodulators available. Neuromodulators are most commonly used to treat wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes, and they can provide a number of cosmetic benefits, including reducing the appearance of wrinkles, preventing new wrinkles from forming, and giving the face a smoother, more youthful appearance. In addition to their cosmetic benefits, neuromodulators can also be used to treat a number of medical conditions, including excessive sweating and chronic migraines.

How long does Daxxify last?

While other products like Botox last roughly three to six months, Daxxify has shown to last up to nine months.* Revance, the company producing Daxxify, currently offers fillers in the RHA Collection. Fillers like RHA provide a number of cosmetic benefits, including reducing the appearance of wrinkles, enhancing facial contours, and restoring volume to the face.

When will Daxxify be available near me?

While Daxxify is FDA-approved, the treatment is not yet available – dermatology offices like ours should be receiving shipments in the coming months. Read more about the release of Daxxify in the September press release.

Daxxify is a neuromodulator, which functions similarly to Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, and Xeomin. Botox is a brand name for a type of neuromodulator called botulinum toxin. Botulinum toxin is a protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, and it works by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that is involved in muscle contractions. When injected into a muscle, botulinum toxin can cause temporary paralysis, which is why it is commonly used in cosmetic procedures to reduce the appearance of wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that cause them.
