Perlane is an injectable cosmetic dermal filler that has been used to soften wrinkles and facial lines of individuals. Perlane is injected to the more pronounced facial folds and wrinkles such as those on the sides of the mouth. It is also a popular filler for lip augmentation, facial depressions, and facial scarring. It can be used in both men and women.
What is Perlane made of?
Perlane is made from hyaluronic acid gel. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance within our bodies that easily adjusts and molds to the facial contours. Because Perlane is a non animal product and does not pose any risk of allergies, no skin testing is required prior to the injection of Perlane.
How does Perlane work?
The hyaluronic acid in Perlane augments the body’s natural supply, which has become depleted with age. Dr. Ross A. Clevens can inject Perlane to fill up scars, lines and wrinkles on the face. Perlane is not a permanent product and is broken down in the body. A Perlane correction can remain for about 6-8 months after injection. This is a much longer period than any of the currently available temporary dermal fillers.
What is the advantage of Perlane?
Perlane not only is much safer but also lasts longer than collagen as a dermal filler.

What is the difference between Perlane and Restylane?
The major difference is that Perlane is a larger molecule compared to Restylane, because it contains more hyaluronic acid molecules.
